That fitment list matters. The MP1350 serves the Ricoh MP and Pro machines named in the table, and the company's catalogue states the list model by model rather than "fits Ricoh". When a drum change falls due on any of them is set by that model's own maintenance schedule. Drums are light-sensitive parts, not hardware-store parts
- Keep them dark. An OPC surface degrades under strong light. Drums stay in their packaging until the moment of fitting; a drum left on a bright bench can carry the damage into every print.
- Hands off the surface. Handle by the ends and the gear, as the inset photograph shows.
- Inspect the blade with the drum. When a drum is changed or a unit is rebuilt, inspect the blade while the machine is open: if its edge is worn or nicked, change it in that same opening rather than leave it for a second visit; the maker's procedure for your model governs the interval. - Test as the model's own procedure directs. Fitting and test sequences differ by model; where the procedure includes a test run after fitting, that run can reveal seating or gear problems while the unit is still accessible.
